I'm trying to create an irregular shaped object that can be bound. I can create the rectangle type boxes but what I really need is to be able to say create a map of irregular shaped farmer fields. Based upon a value the fill color of the object would change based upon "wheat","corn", "Fallow", etc.

Can't seem to find a way to do it.

Any guru's gotta a way?

Thanks

I don't know of any specific method however I have seen people patiently build maps out of many rectangles of various sizes. If you name them carefully, coloring them could be done in a loop based off of their name. Gord

I had thought about that but with some 50 fields that are very irregular and very different in size it would probably take 3-4 man months just to draw and name.

Another option might be to get an image of the area, then use rectangles or labels/text boxes with descriptions and lines to point to the different areas. Might not be as "zoot" but you could then feed your text boxes with descriptions from a table... Gord

I've actually pasted an image and then put a bound field on each area and then use the properties to color, supply text, etc. However, actually coloring the object (farmer's field) would allow printing of maps based upon data. I need to do this within Access and without something like mapinfo using OBDC.

darn......
