Voicemail

(OP)
We have an elite system and want to setup voicemail notification to a cellphone number on a couple of our mailboxes.

Most voicemail boxes can be setup through the users login however we have 4 after hours boxes that dont seem to offer that option.

Is there a way to change the type of box it is or something? I dont have software, only access through handsets.

RE: Voicemail

You probably need software.  You can try to delete the boxes and recreate them through the managers mailbox?
Hope this helps

RE: Voicemail

Enter the mailbox via touch tone
Personal options is "7"
Listen for "transfer and delivery" option
Do NOT use work phone, it only handles 3 digits effectively,
Listen for "home or pager" option
enter number (every digit except the first 9 for dial out)
Mark delivery for each, do not mark for urgent only

If this does not work you will need the software to set up the box.  The installer may not have put in parameters correctly for the box to dial out correctly or restricited notification options through the access codes menu.

Hopr this helps.

RE: Voicemail

Totaletech,

One way to tell for sure about voicemale's post is the personal greeting. To record a greeting for these after hour boxes do you log directly in to the box just as you do your mailbox or do you log into another mailbox and "send" a message to the after hour boxes to record a greeting?

If you are logging in directly to the box, it's a subscriber.  If you are "recording and sending" the personal greeting it's a transaction box.

Either way may be best to obtain the software or a NEC tech with the software to visually verify your off site notifications.
Hope this helps.
