Elite 192 vmail problem

Elite 192 vmail problem

Elite 192 vmail problem

(OP)
we have an elite 192 with a VMS 4 port vmail. i have two extensions that act funny.  when you go through autoattendant, most of the time when you dial the extension, the call rings the phone, and then fowards after 4 rings to the correct voicemail box.  sometimes the call rings the phone and then forwards back to automated attendant and not the vmail mailbox.

i am told to delete the mailbox and re-build them.  i was hoping not to.  any other ideas.

RE: Elite 192 vmail problem

I agree...it's much easier to delete the bow as a start to trouble shooting.

RE: Elite 192 vmail problem

delete the box

Ive had some VMS mails that would fwd manualy transfered calls but would not fwd auto attendant calls.

Had to rebuild box and has been working ever since.

RE: Elite 192 vmail problem

Jsaad,

You can try to remove call forwarding from the extension and set mailbox to Await Ans.  This way the voice mail port never drops the call to the 192.  As long as the port stays active through duration of call the trouble should go away.  If it does not then go with the other post to delete and rebuild.
Hope this helps.

RE: Elite 192 vmail problem

The reason those extentions may have acted funny to begin with is becouse they were set to await answer.  Unless you have a uneec situationyou should always leave the voice mail transfer option set to release,  and allow the phone system to do the call forwarding.
