Remedy ARS 4.05.2 Win2k SQL2k Exchange 5.5
Remedy ARS 4.05.2 Win2k SQL2k Exchange 5.5
(OP)
I recently moved our ARS to a new server, WinNT to Win2k on SQL 2k from 7.0. Everything seemed to migrate just fine with the exception of the email service. I can not start the service. It says there is no default mail client. All settings coincide with the old server as far as settings and account are concerned.
I was wondering if anyone has instructions on starting from scratch, the use and initiation of using email as a notifier. I can not find documentation and we do not have service agreement. Any insight is appreciated.

RE: Remedy ARS 4.05.2 Win2k SQL2k Exchange 5.5
1) Windows NT account for Mail Server created?
2) Granted advanced user rights to your Windows NT account:
- act as part of operating system
- back up files and directories
- log on service
- restore files and directories
- take ownership of files or other projects
3) Did the Exchange Admin create a mailbox and associate it with the Windows NT Account?
4) On the AR Server - log on with the Windows NT account - associated with remedy mail box.
5) Did you create an exchange profile naming your mailbox?
6) Test sending an email to the Remedy Mail box - remember to clear the inbox after the test. Set-up rule to ensure in-box is clear unless you are processing incoming mail through this avenue.
If all these are done - check your ar.cfg file for the correct information on your mail service.
Start Remedy Mail Service.
If still having issues then I would re-install the Remedy Mail Service if Exchange is set-up properly on server.
