Commenting Windows BAT file

Commenting Windows BAT file

(OP)
When I check in source files, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6 for NT 4.0 recognise $ $ tags such as $Author $ within the source files and filled in the filename, date, version, author, etc. automatically in the file.

However, with the same piece of comment line //$author $ etc etc if I have the following in a Windows Batch (*.bat) file-
rem //$author $
rem etc etc.

Microsoft visual sourceSafe failed to insert the details accordingly!! What do I need to do to enable this facility for Batch files?

RE: Commenting Windows BAT file

1) VSS needs to have Keyword Expansion enabled for *.bat files by the administrator (Tools Options and insert *.bat in Expand Keywords in files of type box)

2) $Author: $ is case sensitive and needs a colon
