Connecting to mysql host via home pc

Hi there, I've had mysql running happily on my server for ages, however i'd like to be able to connect to it via Ms Access. I've installed the correct ODBC drivers and run through a process listed at another site (). However when i finally come to conenct, I gety an error saying the server wont allow me to connect.

Any help would be great,

RE: Connecting to mysql host via home pc

I have a similar set up and am able to connect with no problem, with out giving your username and password what do you have entered in your ODBC, and more importantly what is the error you get, I know when I first did it I had a little glitch and it was a simple typo in the username.

RE: Connecting to mysql host via home pc

Hi there, I managed to fix the problem, I had to go into mysqladmin and allow the database I wanted to access to have 'remote access' abailities turned on.
