Using Peach Tree with citrix

Using Peach Tree with citrix

Using Peach Tree with citrix

(OP)
I have Peach Tree Accounting software loaded up on my server and my client uses peach tree by logging into Citrix into my server. I have set up a login in my server for a user to access only Peach Tree. When ever I log in it tries to log me into the server and then gives me an error message saying "Peach Tree has detected that windows 2000 is installed on your machine , you are logged in with restrictive user rights , you need to be power users or administrator to login, please contact your windows 2000 administrator"

My server has windows NT and my client is windows 2000. I am unable to tell if this is a peach tree issue or an issue with Windows. All permissions have been checked on the peach tree folders and files. Please help.....!!

RE: Using Peach Tree with citrix

Peachtree is not supported on Terminal Server.  The web scripts for version 10 will not work in a terminal session.  For any sessions, you are restricted to one user, even if you have a multi-user license.

Having accepted that, in order for your error message to stop you must do two things.  First, each user must have local administrator rights to the terminal server.  This is a minor security issue if your TS is a member server, a major problem if it is a domain conroller.  Second, you must search the terminal server hard drive for the file called pcw*.ini and copy that file into the "\windows" profile folder for each Peachtree user.

I have this set up so I can do rudimentiary things in Peachtree.  Terminal server is not a good idea for users.

Thanks a lot for all the help. You are right. PeachTree doesnt work very well with Citrix. I did what you mentioned. copied the pcw100.ini file into the profile folders of all the users who use peach tree. Now I get an error message saying after the user logs in. I got rid of the other error message for windows 200 though.

"Peach Tree could not detect the status of ini file".

I am able to open up Peach Tree on the server from the same location but the user is unable to do so..

Any ideas?

Thanks
Kavita

RE: Using Peach Tree with citrix

You might also try copying the btrieve ini file (bwi.ini) into each user's \windows profile folder.  Please post the specific error message you are getting and when it occurs.
