Updating my pages
Updating my pages
(OP)
Hello, everyone! I am not sure if this has been covered allready, but here goes:
I am working on a Webpage using FP2000, and everything looks fine. I save the page, go to the browser and it shows the OLD page. I refresh the browser. Still showing the old page. I go back to fp200, save the file and look again, still showing the old page. I finally have to exit OUT of the browser, then exit completely out of FP200, then reload the page, then save it again, and (sometimes) the page finally show up!
Has anyone have any similar experiences? Any adivice or suggestions?
Thanks!
John Vogel

RE: Updating my pages
You can also force a refresh in IE 4 and 5 with Ctrl-F5.
If that doesn't work, and you are using IE 5, go to Tools - Internet Options - General, then click the Settings button in Temporary Internet Files. If Never is checked in "Check for newer versions of stored pages" that could explain the problem, but Never would only be checked if you had done so. The default is Automatically. You can try changing this to Always while you are developing your site, then change it back when you want to do browsing (to speed up access to pages you've visited before that haven't changed).
If you have IE 4 I think you get to the same place via View - Options (but I'm not sure).
If you are using some other browser (like Netscape), there should be some sort of equivalent forced refresh keystroke and changed pages setting.
RE: Updating my pages
I know this sounds improbable, but I also have to do the same thing when I'm using my FTP program.
