how do you pause shockwave audio instantly, I don't want it to play any buffered sound. I am planning on useing downloadnetthing so the file will be local, no pre buffering required.<br>

you can pause the sound of 1 or 2, meaning the first channel or second depending on where you place your audio file. The only thing is that you will probley have to have a mouse handler or interaction in order to pause it. You can find the lingo under "sound" in director 8. Another way arround this is to set the volume to 0 while the play head is in that area and once again this depends on other factors as well, are you importing the sound file into the movie or are you linking to it? If your using a lot of scripts you'll most likely use less frames thus makeing it difficult for sound modifying. Director is quite good at doing just what you tell it to do, just remember it has to know all the varriables, kinda like it's really dumb and you have to tell it EVERY little thing.<br>Hope this helped,<br>Todd
