MS Word does not respond writing to Netbeui file server

MS Word does not respond writing to Netbeui file server

Not sure when the problem started, but I'm running Windows 2000 pro locally and want to write a MS-Word file to our OS/2 files server running Netbeui. When I do this, MS-Word takes forever. The task status changes to "Not Responding", but if left alone, will eventually save correctly. I see the same behavior every time I save a word document to the file server. I can change to write the document to an NT Server running TCP/IP and it saves immediately. I recently upgraded my OS to apply all updates and security patches. My Internet Explorer is now at 6.028. I have tried reinstalling Word and reinstalling Netbeui. I did not save any files so that I can uninstall the OS upgrade. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, abraet

I would say your NIC is the main suspect though, make sure the network adapter settings are set for half duplex, 100mbs or 10.
