New users come up not found in network

Whenever I add a new user to the NT Server everything seems to go ok during the actual adding process. But when I go to login I get an error saying user not found. The really interesting part is that it is usually on the new computers with Win 98 Second Version installed. Anyone having this problem? I can even login with that person's information at my PC but when I go to their PC I get the error user not found. I've had this problem before and usually if I wait a week or two it will finally let that user login??

RE: New users come up not found in network

you have the problem that the domain is not synchronised.

To cure the problem add the user or whatever then START RUN net accounts /sync

RE: New users come up not found in network

Didn't know that one, I like it.

If you're not comfortable with the command line you can also sync through the Server Manager. Hightlight your PDC then choose "Computer>Synchronize entire domain". If you have a lot of slow WAN links to BDCs the sync will take a few minutes. You can view all the sync results in the Event Viewer. You may want to look at this and look at the response times. It never should take a week to synchronize a domain.

RE: New users come up not found in network

Thanks for your help - I had to leave Monday before I got your responses and just got back today. My son was sick - anyhow I'm going to try that today! Thanks again - I'll let you know if it works.
