relies erased

Hello,
I use Comm. 4.7.6 on WIn 98.
When replying to incoming mail, and after clicking on Send, the entire content of the message, including the previous content, is erased completely, and the mail is sent blank.
I have tried to uninstall the software, and reinstall a fresh downloadable version. No chance, it continues. The only way I can send now mails is through OutlokkExpress, which I prefer not.
Any help is welcomed.
