Help!... Error Deleting Records

Help!... Error Deleting Records

Help!... Error Deleting Records

When I use:
delete from marcas where marca='GRA';

I get the error:
pqReadData() -- backend closed the channel unexpectedly.
This probably means the backend terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.
The connection to the server was lost. Attemping reset: Failed.

Can anyone help me whith this? I don't know where to start.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Help!... Error Deleting Records

if you're running linux restart the postmaster - there is something (can't see what) in the query or results that is having a go at the postmaster - i've often found it is simpler just to restart it - i've also occasionally noticed that postgres can lock failed transactions and not display an error unitl the postmaster is restarted (whihc is useful!!).

alternatively, if the postmaster is still happy jump out of psql (\q) and back in again ...
