DDF Editor

I would like to ask your opinion about DDF editor. I need to buy some DDF editor so I can create DDF file and write some ASP code to read data from BTrieve database.

I never use BTrieve database or anything relate with BTrieve. But I'll have to working on it. My BTrieve database is 6.5.

What's the best DDF editor right now? Please tell me the reason that it's better anyone else.

Thank you.

RE: DDF Editor

Do you currently have the DDF files?  If not you have two options.  One is to contact the original vendor and try to get them from the vendor.  The second is you will have to build them yourself.  BtSearch32 at www.nssdd.com can help you analyze your Btrieve files and helps you build the DDF files.

RE: DDF Editor

No, I don't have the DDF files. The original vendor refused to give me those. I think I'm going to build the DDF files myself. How much of BtSearch? I couldn't find on the web site.

RE: DDF Editor

BtSearch the 16-bit version is $49.00 and the 32-bit version is $69.00.  You will need the Windows Pervasive or Btrieve drivers.  If you don't have these you have a couple of options.  Also the unregistered version allows you to view the process.

RE: DDF Editor

Just out of curiousity what is the application?  I cannot believe they refuse to supply DDF files.

Image-net Topcon. It's a software that work with a camera when an eye photographer take a picture of a patient, a software will capture an eyes picture and store info into Btrieve.

I cannot believe too but belive me, I did tried a couple times before. They said it's some kind of secret, can't give me that.
