I need to change the message in night service, my manual is of no help.

Are you wanting to turn night services off/on?
Try Feature 871 turns on and feature #871 turns Off.

We need more info from you about your night service and the phone system you are using,  What version of software, is it a CICS, MICS, etc. are you using a flash or a NAM, Auto attendent on the voicemail or AA on the CICS, custom call routing or just an automatic attendent?

I want to change the message.  I don't know what kind of phone it is it just says Meridian at the top.  I just took over here and nobody knows.  

My manual says Norstar Compact DR5 if that is of any help

There can be to messages in the voicemail one for day and one for night.

To Record the Company DAY & NIGHT Greetings:

Feature 983
LOG: 120000 (2 digit ext's) or 1020000 (3 digit ext's) or 10020000 (4 digit ext's)

          Press OK

          Press AA

          Press GRTG

          Press GRTG

          <Display> Greeting:

Enter 1 for DAY Greeting --- Enter 2 for NIGHT greeting

          Press OK

          Press REC to record.

Wait for the tone!

if you log onto the voicemail as sysmanager (feat 9 8 3 LOG:1 0 2 0 0 0 0 #) then press the AA button, then the table button, enter a 1 for table one and press ok.  at the aa menu prompt press OK. You will see Morning: followed by the greeting number that is selected for that time of day. If you press play it will play what is presently recorded there.  press next to see what greeting is set to play for afternoon, next again for evening, and next one last time for the non business hours. the default is morning 1 afternoon 2 evening 3 and non-business 4 but many techs change these numbers when they set up the systems. Whatever the greetings are you can change them as outlined above but remember to accept the recording after you have recorded it or it just gets discarded and goes back to the original.
