Problems with Fireworks 3

Is there a bug in Fireworks 3?
I have a problem with optimizing medium to large images. Quite often I am given the alert "Could not complete your request. An internal error occurred".
Did Macromedia ever produce a patch to correct this?
The whole point of Fireworks is to be able to produce optimized images for the web!!!
Any comments would be very much appreciated.

RE: Problems with Fireworks 3

I get that too and think its mostly due to RAM.  Rather try going to windows>optimize then set your desired output then go to file>export and save it.
