How to configure a direct project for web?

How to configure a direct project for web?

How to configure a direct project for web?

I have a direct project source and a project under it.
Now, I want to view the reports in this project on the web.
How do I deploy the reports in my project under 'direct' project source on the web?
If I modify the project source properties to Server, it does'nt work.
Please respond.

Thanks in advance.

RE: How to configure a direct project for web?

you cannot use the direct source for web because the direct source is not server based.  You need to configure a Intelligence server.  First disconnect your direct source, close desktop.  Use the "configuration wizard" under start>programs>mstr 7.  It will prompt you for a DSN, use the same one as for your direct source.  Start your intelligence server and then point web to this server.

THe mstr web solution requires a mid-tier server so that there are no problematic database connections onvthe web server.  One more step for security assurance, not a bad deal.
