Importing large text cell from Word table into Access table

Importing large text cell from Word table into Access table

(OP)
Need to import ~500 entries from a Word table where some of the entries are up to 1,000 characters into an Access table.

Tried importing from Word, but Access doesn't allow that file type.

Tried exporting from Word to HTML.  That worked fine despite the large cell size.  But on importing, Access would not recognize the file type even though the import wizzard correctly identified the fields.  Access generated an error report that identified truncation on the first few instances of large text cells.  Access Table shows the field type as 'memo' rather than text which should allow large data entries.

RE: Importing large text cell from Word table into Access table

If this is a one off, then try copying the table and pasting it into an Excel worksheet. This can then be linked into access and treated as a table.

Hope this helps.
