How do I do minute operation on the "date" data type?

(OP)
Hi,

I am trying to write a script that takes a count of records that have been added in the past 30 minutes.  Does anyone know how I can setup the date variable to 30 minutes before the current time?  I tried using the minus operator on the date, but it seems to interpret my code as wanting to take 30 days off sysdate.  Need help.  Thank you.
