Getting auto attendant to change message after hours.

Getting auto attendant to change message after hours.

Getting auto attendant to change message after hours.

During the day we have our standard greeting but we also recorded one for our after hour calls. How do I get the after hours to turn on at a certain time everyday (4:30 pm) and turn off and go back to the bussiness hours one in the morning(8:00am)M-F?

RE: Getting auto attendant to change message after hours.

You will have to go into voice mail programming using Feature 983 and log 120000, 1020000...depending on your DN length. It`s under AA, Table, then you enter your table number 1-4, (most likely 1) and hit OK. You have to assign which greeting you want to play in the Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Non-Business to correspond with what greeting to play.

If you want only one greeting for the day and one for night, assign the morning, afternoon and evening to play greeting 1, and non business to play greeting 2. As you keep hitting next, you will get to the Time of Day prompt. In here, you will have to assign what times the morning, afternoon, evening and non business will begin to play for every day of the week. For Mon to Fri, you will assign the Morning greeting to come on at 8:00 AM, Afternoon 12:00 PM, Evening 4:30 and non business as 4:30 as well. For Sat and Sun, you`ll have to set all four times to the same time. That way, at that time it will run through all 4 times at the same time and end off with your non business, keeping it closed.

Once all your Times of Day are set up for every day of the week, go back to AA, then GRTG, and record a greeting 1 for your daytime greeting, and 2 for your night.

One last thing you should remember, is that on a holiday when you are closed, the last night you`re in before the holiday, you will have to go into feature 982 with a password of operator, in order to manually close your business. This will override the Times of Day you assigned for the duration of the holiday. When you get back, go into Feature 982 and re-open your business. If you don`t do this, greetings will play like normal, even though you`re closed.
