Front page 2000 Drop downs

(OP)
My initial page is a combination of two pages a "leftbar.htm" and a "main page" on the right.  Whenever I put a dropdown menu in the left bar, it always targets the left bar or even worse, I get an error message.  I've checked the page properties on both pages and made sure the target was set for the main page, but the drop downs still do this.  How do I fix this so that the dropdown menu will target the main page and not the leftbar (or error message).  Also some of my hover buttons creat a new page instead of just targeting the main page and leaving the left navigation bar there, like the others do.  Please help.  savannahmusician@aol.com   www.savannahmusician.com
