Blocking incoming calls??

Blocking incoming calls??

Blocking incoming calls??

(OP)
Is it possible to block an incoming call on the Definity system? For example, if we were receiving annoying phone calls from one particular number could I somehow put this number in the system so that just this number would be blocked? I don't want to get involved with the service provider. Thanks...

RE: Blocking incoming calls??

If you have PRI you could route this caller to a dead end.You can do this on page 3 of your trunk page. It has to be the trunk they are coming in on. But if the caller calls in on a different phone he/she can get through. Your next call might be to legal department.

RE: Blocking incoming calls??

Simple Answer: If you're receiving the calling line ID (CLID), and you have vectoring, then yes:
......................................
goto step x if ani = nnnnnnnnnn

step x:

busy
......................................

This will provide busy treatment to any caller calling from that calling line ID.

If you're not receiving the CLID, reply with the mode in which the caller is contacting you (DID, toll-free number, extension off main number, etc.) and indicate whether you're able to ID the caller prior to call answer.

Basically, you need to be able to identify the caller, and then provide treatment unique to just that caller...

Thanks for your responses. I changed our main vector to deny a specific ANI. I tested it and it works great.

For added protection I’d like to block on the inbound DID PRIs. On the third page I see where there are fields to do digit conversions but I though these fields were there to modify the phone number being called, not the caller ANI. I tried to set this up but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any Suggestions??  Thanks....

RE: Blocking incoming calls??

Your right what am I thinking (monday) Sorry...But the last two are true. You might route this call to a voice mail box and let them know that all these calls will be recorded for latter legal use.
