Can anyone definitively tell me if ANI information coming over a PRI T1 will show on a Caller-ID capable single-line phone ( or Caller-ID box ) on a TN793b pack G3v9?
I am getting conflicting information.
Thanks.
Everything I've seen says it will. The issue is the release. It may not be R9.1, you may need to be R9.5. We are going from R8 to R10 next week and I'm looking forward to trying it out. I wanted to bridge the first appearance of a digital set onto an analog station. I don't even plan on hooking a phone up to the analog port. I just want to hook a caller ID box to the analog port so when a DCP user returns to their desk, they will have a 100 number caller ID history on the analog device even if the caller didn't leave an Audix.
Cool application.
I was once thinking of doing something similar with a Caller-ID capable modem and storing 1000's of calls in a database and then being able to autodial them from the PC and pick up the digital phone when they answer.
Let us know how the upgrade goes.
Yes it will pass ANI the a set as Caller-ID. I have it working in my office. It was avaliable with the 793B board release. The B suffix is required for it to function. A couple of hints though, earlier versions had a field on the station form you set to yes to enable caller-id. In R9.5 it is determined bu set type. Do not use set type 2500, use set type CallrID. This will pass the ANI. Hope this helps
Nope, nothing else is required. Depending on your provider you may or may not get name. This will depend on you PRI setup. You are right, you get ANI, if provided, or the trunk group name will be displayed if you have not been sent ANI. Hope this helps
