BCM450 Not able to Dial local numbers using 10 digit dialing
BCM450 Not able to Dial local numbers using 10 digit dialing
(OP)
I have an Avaya BCM450 that we just took over. its fed by a PRI. to access the outgoing trunk you have to dial 81. The commerical provider has changed the dialing plans. To access an outside line off of the local side we dial 81 then a two digit code 99, followed by the 10 digit number. the very last nuber in the sequence is being stripped or blocked.. but you can dial 81- local 7 digits no problem, 81-99 1 + the 10 digit number and it works. but if you dial 81-99 then the local 10 digit it doesnt work.. has anyone encounterd this problem ? is it in the routing, 001, or the destination code maybe. the DN maybe.. I have Element manager to access the system. or local programming...????
RE: BCM450 Not able to Dial local numbers using 10 digit dialing
Try Dialing Plan/ Public Network
Override the default of 7
You could change the Default DN Prefix from 7 to 10 for local calls
Another method
Create a dial plan for the amount of digits dialed for all 3 types of calls.
In a normal situation for North America:
On the left you would add 81(local), 811(Local LD) and 810 as the DN Prefix and then the DN length would be:
81 - 12 (2 for the dest code (81)and 10 for the tel #)
811 - 13 (2 for the dest code (81), 1 for Local LD (1) and 10 for the tel # (XXXXXXXXXX)
810 - 17 (2 for the dest code (81), 3 for the International Prefix (011), 2 for country code (XX) and 10 for the tel # (XXXXXXXXXX)
In the case where a carrier still wants you to add a code, 99 in your case:
On the left you would add 8199(local) & 81991(Local LD) and 81990 (LD) as the DN Prefix and then the DN length would be:
8199 - 14 (2 for the dest code, 2 for the carrier code (99) and 10 for the tel # (XXXXXXXXXX)
81991 - 15 (2 for the dest code, 2 for the carrier code (99), 1 for Local LD (1) and 10 for the tel # (XXXXXXXXXX)
81990 - 19 (2 for the dest code (81), 2 for the carrier code (99), 3 for the International Prefix (011), 2 for country code (XX) and 10 for the tel # (XXXXXXXXXX)
