Hi all, What would be the best way

Hi all, What would be the best way

Hi all,
What would be the best way of adding a three digits code to dial a toll free number in a 81c RELEASE 4?
We have been task to add the toll free suicide hotline of 988 in the three 81c switches we have here.
Couldn't use 98 because 98 is used for something else. Looking to use 966. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah, I have the 800 number and I know what numbers are available in the switches. Just not sure how to get the three digits to dial/route or forward to the 800#.

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

You might need to create a new RLI in LD 86 and / or just add in a new entry in LD 90 for your chosen number. Running the networking report will show you the overlays that are used to compile the data.

Thanks for the direction its greatly appreciated, will be looking into that.

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

I'm also trying to add 988 as an SPN. I've added the SPN, RLI and DGT and still can't get the call to go out. Seems like it can't find the trunk route, dead air for a few seconds and then fast busy. Trying to TRAC in LD80 and traceSM and never see the call. I can dial the number directly. What have I missed?

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

Are you trying to dial your access code (AC1 or AC2?), followed by 988?.
It would then be dialled out as e.g. AC1 988 and the actual digits dialled out would be 18002738255.

What route is 90?. Is it ISDN, SIP, Analogue trunks etc?.

Also check that your outgoing route has ICOG = IAO to be set for bothway dialling.

Don't forget to check and test the link by dialling the ACOD number instead of the AC1 or AC2 code and then 988.
You might have a TGAR / TARG restriction applied on the route and trunks as well as the extension number.

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

what is your AC1? If it is 9 then you would just add SPN 88 FLEN 2 and change the DGT to delete 2 if you only want to dial 988, pretty much what Firebird is saying to get to SPN you are either going through AC1, AC2 or on latest releases ZFDP

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

We already have NXX 880, 881, etc. Won't let me add SPN 88.

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

I am having a similar issue, but with calls tandeming off of of a CS1000M

I have set things up identical to how they are routing 911 and 9+911, and those calls route fine.

The d-channel message is the same, except the 988 calls fail with the following message:

DCH 21 IMSG SETUP REF 00008017 CH 2 23 TOD 13:33:53
FEAT :NCID
PROGRESS: ORIG ADDR IS NOT ISDN
CALLING #:7303 NUM PLAN: PRIVATE/UNKNOWN (UNKNOWN)
CALLED #:1049988 NUM PLAN: PRIVATE/NETWORK SPECIFIC (SPN)

DCH 21 OMSG CALLPROC REF 00008017 CH 2 23 TOD 13:33:53

DCH 21 OMSG PROGRESS REF 00008017 CH 2 23 TOD 13:33:55

FEAT :NCID
PROGRESS: INBAND INFO OR PATTERN IS AVAIL

DCH 21 IMSG DISC REF 00008017 CH 2 23 TOD 13:33:57

DCH 21 OMSG RELEASE REF 00008017 CH 2 23 TOD 13:33:57

DCH 21 IMSG REL COMP REF 00008017 CH 2 23 TOD 13:33:57

988 calls work fine from the main location, over a PRi from a BCM and over a PRI from a CM.

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

Colorado, not sure what 1049 is, but probably need to strip that out.

Since we're 10-digit dialing here now, I think I can delete my NXXs 880, 881, etc. and then add the 88 as the SPN. Will try that when I'm back in the office.

RE: Hi all, What would be the best way

The 1049 has to do with the fact that these are tie lines, and is on all calls that come across the PRI.

I tried routing the 988 calls to the 800 number, and that worked.
