I use a combo-box for selecting a set out of a data-base. While moving though the list of the combo, the line on which the mouse-pointer is actually gets "selected" an changes to blue back-colour. how can I get this selection as a event and get the string of this line ? (no button is used !)

If the item of a combo box changes the click event is automatically triggered. You can use the list property to get the currently selected item.
