Do not disturb for a single user

Do not disturb for a single user

Do not disturb for a single user

HI All.

This is probably really simple, but for some reason, I can't get this to work... properly.

I have a user... a single user... who cannot be bothered for any reason between 8:00 pm, and 8:00 am. Don't ask me why, it is what the customer wants. So, by their explanation, they want the call to this user (they don't have voicemail) to at 08:01 pm to be on DND, and at 08:01 am start allowing calls again.

I set up a time profile for this action, and added it to the user's working hours user rights.

In the short codes section of user rights, I added the DND short code.

But the calls still keep going through.

Any ideas?

RE: Do not disturb for a single user

I have done this a lot with classroom phones in schools. You can use time profiles and the DND check box in users rights. no need for short codes.

RE: Do not disturb for a single user

Hi kwing112000

I found a solution to my problem after digging a little further into the customer system.

Since they have a UCM I scrapped doing what I wanted with Manager, and went to the UCM, created a leave startpoint for the user, and set conditions where it checked the times (since they are going through a night, I created an evening and morning conditions.

When someone calls in the specified hours, they get a recording saying "Sorry the user isn't accepting calls between x and y hours. Please call back then" and it disconnects. If it isn't in the hours, it rings the user phone.

And it seems to work like they want it, but after testing we will see if what they asked for is what they want... you know customers.

RE: Do not disturb for a single user

That's cool, except it doesn't block internal calls from other users, and if an internal user covers to the voice mailbox, they won't be able to leave a message.

Again, customers.......

RE: Do not disturb for a single user

You could just use a time profile on the user rights part. Create a Day and a Night user rights and have the night one have DnD enabled and applied.
