Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

(OP)
Hey,

I'm trying to forward voicemail to forward to emails to their respective departments. I have 8 UM already loaded in the system, I just don't know how to go about it.

Thank you

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Are you trying to setup Unified Messaging or Message Forwarding?

Unified Messaging - integrates with Outlook etc where you have an inbox for vmail.

Message Forwarding - sends a wav file (the message) to an email address
This does not integrate with Outlook etc.

You can refer to these 2 guides that are on any BCM:
-Unified Messaging Configuration Guide
-Message Forwarding info is found in the Callpilot Setup and Operation Guide

Thank you for the info, But I believe my boss want Unified Messagin. but if you can tell how message forwarding works that will be great

Is there anyway to access Call Pilot Desktop through web browser ?

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

(OP)
Thank you So much, but it seems like Call Pilot manager is different then Call pilot desktop. Please correct me if i'm wrong because I don't see anywhere in call pilot where I can forward the voicemail to a specific email

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

They are different, hence why they have different names.

Did you download the above guides that I mentioned from your BCM, give them a good read.
There is about 100 guides on your BCM.

Callpilot Setup and Operation Guide is the admin guide

I tried what you said, but that's where I get stuck. In system configuration it doesn't give me place to insert any email info/

and this doesn't work either

Not Found
The requested URL /mailboxmanager was not found on this server.

this is what it says after I log in with my BCM email and password

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Have you entered in the mailbox ID when using the mailbox Manager?. You don't use the system login and password!

I've used https://192.168.1.10/mailboxmanager

and I get a screen where I enter in the mailbox ID and passcode.

Once logged in, I get these options.

Finally, here is where you set the feature.

Of the two types of mailboxes you can create, which on type did you create?
Yes, part test.

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

I've seen the screen shots. What version is your BCM 50 / 450 phone system?.
Mine is at release 6.0. In Element Manager I also have this section.

I think that the email alarm notification was only available from release 5.0 to 6.0.

Is there anyway to update it 5.0 from 4 ? and I see you mentioned 50/450 but I have 400 does that matter? we have a 50 in branch office but I haven't gotten to that yet

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

I don't recall the BCM 400 ever having the email feature at release 4.0.
There was no newer release other that upgrading to a BCM 450.

This would explain why you can't get the email forwarding to work.

Thank you So much

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Just a side question, but how many sets (approx.)does the 400 site have?

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Nik789, I just looked at the image you posted and the software version 6.0.2.05.237 indicates it is R3, so it WAS upgraded at some point. You might be able to tell from the software history in BEM.

The system name was never changed from when it was R2, which is what I originally looked at.

So you should have message forwarding available if there are Unified Messaging seats installed. Sorry for the confusion.

We have approximately 40 - 45 sets at the main( BCM 400) site, and about 30 at 50 site.

exsmogger, I can't seem to see the settings that they are looking at. That's why i posted this question in the first place. I read a lot of Guides they seem to be going a long the lines of what you guys are saying, But the issue is still there.

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Ok thanks.
As a vendor and tech, I suggest at this point you get a vendor involved.

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

I'm wondering about this too.....

I set up the BCM emailing and call recording in Element Manager and call pilot but I am unable to get my BCM50 R6 to work as I am getting this error.

No valid Professional Call Recording email server configured. Check configuration.

Check the email server configration on the BCM and ensure that the call recording rules have a valid to email address.

I checked to make sure that the SMTP is all correct unless I need to change a setting on the router.

Thanks

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Utilities/Ping 8.8.8.8 will let you know that you have internet connection

One way to test your BCM can send an email is to go into Admin Access/EmailSettings and fill in your creds - This section is required to allow Call Record and Alarms sending emails.
Then go to Alarms/Settings and pick an alarm that has an email box checked or check any one, then highlight that alarm and click test alarm.
If that works then the BCM and Callpilot should allow emails and your issues are with the settings in Call Recoding or in voicemail config settings.

If it did not work then maybe an issue on he network , carrier or your email host.

Message Forwarding settings are only in the Callpilot config settings and the users web based mailbox manager (to enter the email address and enable the feature)

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Hi,

I still can not get it to work. tried two different emails such as google and AT&T and double checked the smtp settings and getting the errors below. I was able to ping 8.8.8.8

No valid Professional Call Recording email server configured. Check configuration.

Check the email server configration on the BCM and ensure that the call recording rules have a valid to email address.

RE: Forwarding Voicemails to Emails

Have you got the Professional Call Recording keycode enabled?. Is your BCM 50 / 450 at release 6.0?.
If you go to the keycode section, you should have code 296 with a value of up to 16 for a BCM 50 system and 40 for a BCM 450.
