Nortel MICS FastRad help

Nortel MICS FastRad help

Nortel MICS FastRad help

(OP)
Ok, let's start with I'm an IT guy not a phone guy...

Working at a company with a Nortel MICS 4.0 (SP: 30mkF01 NAT) system.
I have purchased a Fastrad and have it connected to the system, and I'm trying to set up for direct connect to a pc.
First, is the serial cable supposed to be a null modem cable? I assumed so, since the FastRad seems to be geared to work with a modem...
Second, how do I set up for direct connection in the Nortel phone system? I've created a system ID and a password. And told it to auto answer. But, I'm not sure where to go from there...

I appreciate any help you all can offer.

RE: Nortel MICS FastRad help

FastRad IS a modem. No NULL modem cable. Feature 9** to configure Fast Rad. Need NRU Norstar Remote Utilities software to use FastRad.

Cool, I ordered a new serial cable. I already have an XP vm running in VMWare with the physical serial port connected to the VM and NRU 11 installed on the VM.
Thanks for the information.
