Replacing CICS with DN lenght of 2 by MICS with DN lenght of 3 causing problems with CallPilot100

Replacing CICS with DN lenght of 2 by MICS with DN lenght of 3 causing problems with CallPilot100

Replacing CICS with DN lenght of 2 by MICS with DN lenght of 3 causing problems with CallPilot100

(OP)
I will soon be replacing one of my customers CICS with MICS for added capacity. The CICS is set with DN lenght of 2 and extensions 21,22, 23, etc. The CallPilot100 already installed is set with 2 digits voicemail boxes like 21, 22, 23, etc. matching the set's DN's.

Since the MICS has a minimum DN lenght of 3 I've been making some tests at home before going out to the customer.
I didn't have a CICS available for testing so I connected a MICS with a DN lenght of 3 and a CallPilot100 with voicemail boxes 221, 222, 223. Doing Feature 985 returns 230.
This works fine.

I then changed the MICS DN lenght to 4 but the CallPilot100 would not respond to Feature 981,983 or 985 until I rebooted it. After rebooting Feature 985 returns 2230 which matches the CFNA setting but the CallPilot100 doesn't operate properly.
e.g.: Calling extension 2222 from 2221, extension 2222 will stop ringing after 2 rings (CFNA set to 2 rings), ext 2221 display will show ''Not available'' then EXT: Dialing 222 will reach box 222 and a message can be left.
MSG does not appear on ext 2222 display but doing Feature 981, 222 + password gets you to voicemail box 222 and the message left can be heard.

Of course this is unacceptable.

My question:
Is there a workaround to this problem or do I have to do a REINSTALL on the CallPilot100 and reprogram it.

Thanks,

Robert Lafleur

A re-install will be needed. That why I always set up with 3 digits on CICS & MICS.

That's what I thought but I wanted confirmation from the experts.

Originally that customer had a 6x16, I added capacity with a CICS with a 0x8 expansion card and a CallPilot100 many years ago.
At that time keeping 2 digits DN's meant less problems for the customer.

I now also set up CICS with 3 digits permitting the use of hunt groups.

Thanks again,

Robert Lafleur
