Toshiba CIX100 Attendant Console

Hi everyone-

I've inherited a Toshiba Strata CIX-100 system, which we need to nurse along for a year or two before replacement.

Of course the system came with no install CD, or much of anything; though we have managed to get into the Network eManager and other systems.

My challenge is they would like to upgrade the Reception computer, which will require re-installation of the Attendant Console; but I have not been able to find the installer anywhere. Does anyone have it stashed away somewhere that could provide a copy?

I doubt that, your predecessors probably lost it as usually the case.

Guides are available everywhere but software is hard to find indeed.
Maybe the telecom bullies (Mitel) might have it.

The software was designed to work on Pentium III - Win XP/2000 so you are taking a gamble on upgrading the PC.
A lot of people make this mistake and pay for it dearly.
-Probably best to give the user new PC and keep the old one for the Toshiba vs the time, effort and frustrations.

-Some software's simply install only a folder with it's ingredients in "Programs" folder.
You could try to copy that to another PC, open the folder and look for the executable and if works create a shortcut.

-Lastly you can try VirtualBox and run an older OS on your new one.

Hopefully somebody else can help or provide info.

I'd have to agree with curlycord about keeping the current PC as the attendant and give the user a second PC to use as a PC. I have set up lot's of the CIX attendant PC's over the years and getting it to work on Win 7 or above is a real beast with lots of digging into DCOM permissions and other nasty stuff. Most of which any competent security conscious company will have locked up pretty tight and will heavily question the need for opening access. While it is possible it's probably not worth your while to do it if you have a working attendant already and you are already planning to replace the PBX.

Unfortunately my former employer has the software for loading it and I do not have a copy.

Thanks for the input everyone- we are going to transfer the existing PCs to SSD (to both speed them up and have a solid backup) and then remote in to use the console. It's good to get confirmation that the direction I was leaning in is the correct way to go.
