using msgbox in flex code

if I use a msgbox in the code it almost always freezes. 90% of the time you can click on any other running application and than back to macola and it will allow you to click the "ok". If that doesn't work you are stuck waiting some random amount of time for it to unfreeze and then you can proceed.

Can anyone tell me a way around this, or why it happens?

Version 9.7.500

I've never had this happen. What screen are you writing Flex code behind? Can you post your code?
