1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

Hi there!

Is there certain bluetooth headsets that will work with the 1140e? I tried the APPLE pods with no reaction? I noticed that the phone I was trying it on did have it paired previously with a Plantronics 520. That seems a pricey headset so I wondered if just some bluetooth headset like the cheaper ones you use for the cell phones in the car would be compatible? Anyone have any experience with different models/manufacturers that would/could work?

RE: 1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

Hello i have many 1140E installed around with Jabra BT headsets that work fine, even the remote answering and disconnection functions ok.

RE: 1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

Is the Jabra bluetooth just a bluetooth headset or is it a unit with a base and a USB cord going back to the phone? I'm trying to register either Apple Earpods or another headset without success? I'm wondering if there is different versions of bluetooth and the newer headsets don't support the older bluetooth format perhaps?

RE: 1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

Last guide from BCMR6 in 2010 states support for BT 1.2
The Ayava Communication Server 1000 states BT 2.1

I tried Wicked Gnar BT 5.0 ear buds on 1140e BCMR6 with no success "Device Not Found".

You might try a "usb to bluetooth adapter - Transmitter".

RE: 1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

Apparently after checking with Plantronics, they say either a 5200 UC, 4210 UC, 4220 UC or a Focus UC will work.

RE: 1140E Bluetooth Headset Compatibility

Those 3 also use the USB adapter I speak of, they are not true Bluetooth to the phone.

Jabra states compatinle with Nortel IP sets:
