I am quite new to AWS and also very new to configuring email server.

I have question, i want email sending only options (smtp), email to be sent internal to companies environment. Like Application A (web-based) should be able to send email to recipients (mail groups) as an alert.

I have been told that SES cant be used, as its used only for sending external emails.

Other option is installing MTA, like SENDMAIL, POSTFIX or QMAIL for this requirement.

Can anyone guide me by sending some links, where i can go through step by step configuration steps for configuring an MTA on EC2 instance ?, preferably POSTFIX
