How to move to WebLM

How to move to WebLM

How to move to WebLM

Hello guys,

I have an IP Office Server Edition on R11. When we upgraded we switched to PLDS licenses. I was advised that we should move to WebLM to prevent future issues. Can anyone provide instruction on how to make the switch? Did a quick search, but didn't find a whole lot of info.

Thanks for the help!

RE: How to move to WebLM

Why would it prevent future issues?

Sure, you can have the licenses on the Server Editions Web License Manager but unless they are planning to remove local license support I don't see the need for it.
I have customer using both options.

RE: How to move to WebLM

I had the 22 extra PRI licenses on 2 of the expansions ( and they didn't work in local licensing and when I looked at docs it said they needed to be on WebLM. But that was easy enough just setup the Server WebLM and re-hosted license in PLDS change the IPO in the solution to look at the WebLM.

RE: How to move to WebLM

I remember a 9.1 server + IP500 we did and it was right smack in the middle of ADI/PLDS. We screwed up and put the PRI channels on the server edition IIRC and at that time the PRI channels had to be on the IP500 holding them. The server was WebLM and the IP500 was ADI on the SD card and you couldn't move licenses off PLDS to a ADI/SD card thing. Was a mess.

Once you're on PLDS/WebLM, you can rehost to your heart's content. The IP500 has a local WebLM now, even if you use webmanager and don't explicitly see WebLM. AFAIK, it's still a license from PLDS that you can rehost to another 'hostid' (re:mac address)

Or, simply, if you're on PLDS licensing, you're already using a license that is consumed by a weblm - be it on your server or gateway.
