How can I block and trace the source of broadcast on the network?

If you have a firewall, switch, or router you can likely use their tools. If not wireshark will be your friend.

Learning - A never ending quest for knowledge usually attained by being thrown in a situation and told to fix it NOW.

It may be a legitimate broadcast on the network - small subnets allow for containing of broadcast storms

DHCP could be a culpret, if it has a very short lease time.
