Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

(OP)

I have an IPO Server Edition 11.0.4 SP2 with 10 IP500 expansion units.
5 of those expansion sites currently have PRI’s. The sites that do not have trunking, route out one of those 5 sites.
Currently each sites has ARS routes . Depending on site and User, they will send the 10 digit extension caller ID or the Main # of site using the NS short code.

We are going to convert these 5 PRI trunks to SIP trunks

My question is would I be able to use the ARS patterns currently in place and just change the LINE group number to the SIP trunks to send the caller ID? I read that NS is supported on SIP IPO 10.0+. If I am able to do this it would make it easier than programming the SIP URI tab on line.

Or is there a better way?

RE: Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

In Canada on R10+ we are able to send caller ID the exact same way on SIP or PRI. Since release 10 we have always controlled caller ID with NS or .S . I have switched a number of sites from PRI to SIP and just changed line numbers in ARS with no issues. If you make the incoming group the same as the PRI you should have no downtime at all.

Thank You for your response. What are you using for your SIP URI Tabs on Line?

RE: Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

(OP)
Thank You for information. Will I need 2 entries in that Line Tab them if I set that to auto? I usually have 2 entries one for Outbound ( User internal data)
And one for inbound (Auto)?

RE: Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

(OP)
Just to clarify. I would only need 1 entry in the SIP URI tab. Local URI and Contact set to Auto.

This entry will allow outbound caller ID controlled by the ARS. I will program that something like
1N
Dial
1NS5555551212"@192.168.3.5"
LG 10

Will I need a second entry for inbound calls?

RE: Converting PRI trunking over to SIP trunks.

Just put your Incoming Group in the same SIP URI and configure your Incoming Call Routes as normal

Excellent TY.

This will make programming a bit easier
