Hello all,

I am currently trying to install a simple DECT System in our lab and I am running into some issues.

Following the manual, on page 66 it says:

8. Select the Services | Provisioning tab again. The Status should have changed to
Connected. If not, a user name/password mismatch may have caused the IP Office
service user account to become disabled, check the settings and re-enable the user.

- Now on this tab it does not says "Connected" however it does say "Active":

9. Select DECT | SARI. The value of the SARI entered into the IP Office configuration should
now also be visible in the base station configuration.

- The Value here is blank.

4. Select General | Certificates and wait to see the certificate from IP Office appear in the
Not trusted list.

This never appears.

IPO Is on R11.0.4.1.0 Build 11 and Ive updated the Compact Base Station (My only base station, currently set as the Master) Boot and Firmware Files to: 10.2.9

Suggestions?

Go to IP Office security settings and make sure the IP Dect service user is enabled...

Okkie26: I followed the Security Settings outlined in the Manual
- HTTP service: UnSecure + Secure
- IPDECT Group: "DECT R4 Provisioning" and "Directory Read" are selected
- Service User, IPDectService: member of the IPDECT Group
- Account Status: Enabled and the Account Expiry as <None>.

derfloh: I will check Monday and report back.

Is your Avaya IP Office SARI number something along the lines of 31100614600500 etc?. It needs to be the same on the DECT base station, but the number used on the Avaya has to be accepted and valid. This SARI number doesn't have to be unique and you can copy over the same number from another working system.

Firebird Scrambler: I entered in the SARI/PARK Number on the Gateway Tab of the IPO DECT Line from a document I received from Jenne (DECT SARI Certificate). The number is not the same as you put, it does start with 31100614XXXXXX

Yes, as long as you have entered it in there, you should be OK from the Avaya IP Office side.
The enable provosioning tab needs to be ticked.
I tend to use the Subscriptions tab set as disabled and the Authentication Code box with the same ones that I use for the DECT handsets.
In the VoIP tab, I use the Gateway IP address as the IPO. but make it the next IP address after the IPO
i.e. Gateway for the whole system = 192.168.1.1, Avaya IPO = 192.168.1.2 and the DECT gateway = 192.168.1.3 etc.

I see that you loaded up the DECT basestation with 10.2.9 software which I always do and I always do the boot first followed with the firmware and finally a backup image from another site.
I find it easier to use a backup copy and then I just change the SARI and any IP addresses if needed.

I have attached a guide that I wrote on it. I hope it helps?

Note sure if this helps but the light is flashing fast blue through all the configuration setup.

Firebird Scrambler:

"Select the PARI tab at the top The System ID = 12 and press the OK button once entered in." Mine is currently at 16 (i did not enter this) - what exactly is the "System ID"?

I turned off provisioning, which allowed me to manually enter in the SARI - Once I did the light went solid blue.

Also you mention: "Check that the Subscriptions dropdown box is set to "With System AC"" - Mine is defaulted at "With User AC"

Do you do anything with "General" > "Certificates"? The manual says to wait and the IPO Should show up in the "Not trusted list." - Nothing ever shows up.

Thanks!

Having a solid blue light is a good thing. Assuming that you know the DECT base station IP address, should enable you to browse onto it.

The guide I wrote was done to help me figure out how to understand the way it is done using the best and easiest method.

Check that your Dect Module IP address information in on the same network as your Avaya IP Office.

I have done a few capture photos for you taken from the DECT module browser that might help?.

Firebird Scrambler: Appreciate all the help. Everything is working with the cordless as it should. I can make outbound calls, internal calls and answer incoming calls.

My confusion is why did I have to manually enter in the SARI on the Master Base Station when the manual said it should pull it from the IPO and

Why does the IPO not show up under Certificates on the Master Base Station as per the manual to add to the "Trust List"

Either way it seems to be fully functioning.

ACSS

Well, to answer your query on the SARI, I gave up following the manual. The document I was reading seems to take you from one place to another without any real reason. Perhaps it's because my knowlwdge isn't clever enough to read Avaya files although I also found some of the Nortel NTP's were easy until they were replaced after the takeover with Avaya ones. Either way, I just wanted to find a straight forward way of indtaling these things.

I take the view that as long as it works OK, then that will do!.

I'm glad that you got it sorted in the end.
