Call forward on cisco gateway router

Call forward on cisco gateway router

Call forward on cisco gateway router

(OP)
Hi,
I have a Cisco 2800 that was a gateway to our Cisco UCM. We have shutdown the CUCM, and moved to another voice system. However, the gateway is still active, and I had a few queries.
I need to redirect an incoming fax call to another separate analog number? How can I do this on the gateway? Does the CUCM need to be active for this functionality?

Appreciate any help. thanks.

RE: Call forward on cisco gateway router

I assume the gateway is configured as H323 or SIP. If so, you can do it via dial peers.

Hi,
Thank you for the comment. I believe it is h323, but how would i know for sure? How can i configure the dial peers, can you help me? Can i post the config here?
Thanks.

RE: Call forward on cisco gateway router

The easiest way would have to been to see how it was configured in CM. But yes, you can post the config here if you want.

Heck, you probably could have ported the number by now which would be the simplest method. Judging by the config youre getting 4 digits from the telco. You can just change your session target IP if thats the case.

Thanks gnr,
Which IP should i use for the session target IP? I want to forward a call incoming on 3001 back out the PRI to another analog fax.

Thanks.

RE: Call forward on cisco gateway router

Is the analog fax not connected to the current system? It has its own phone number already?

RE: Call forward on cisco gateway router

Yeah, you could do it that way. If thats the only number left, I would personally have the telco put an RCF on it.

Hi,
It's one in a range of numbers in our E1. Is it possible to install a fax module and connect the fax machine direct to the router?
This is my current hardware

RE: Call forward on cisco gateway router

You could but without CM behind it, its not going to work.

Hi,
Thanks. Can i forward this to a Fax server over IP? Would this require a CM as well? What would you recommend?

RE: Call forward on cisco gateway router

Yeah, you could send all those calls to the fax server or just some via the dial peers.

I would recommend porting the numbers and making your life easy. But this would work in the interm.
