Dial SIP Paging extension using Dial Emergency so hot deskers phones call the correct paging system

Dial SIP Paging extension using Dial Emergency so hot deskers phones call the correct paging system

I am trying to use dial emergency short code to check which location the phone is, and so will call the extension number of the correct site SIP paging adapter.

The call gets passed to the correct 911 ARS table which has a short code in it (811), that short code point to extension 21010 on the system. But the ARS will not dial the extension and reports LINE with group ID: 0 HAS NO CHANNEL: 34 - ATTEMPT OTHER TARGETS

Isn't the system supposed to hit on an extension match first?
It is like you cannot dial extensions from an ARS table, is that correct?

Ive never routed an emergency short code to anything other than a line group ID.
Dont route emergemcy calls through ars forms and other nonsense. As you're finding, complex programming makes it easier to break. There are no rewards for the longest routed call through a system.

Just create a local short code on any site 811/Dial Extn/<No of Paging adapter>

Independent of which site the user currently is logged in it will always dial the local paging adapter.

User Short code 811/Dial Extn/<No of correct Paging adapter>

Create a User Right for each of the 23 locations, add this to the User Short Codes, and apply the correct User Rights to each user

Unfortunately I already thought of that but it does not work either, Avaya in their wisdom has it where a user can only be part of one user rights group.

We already have many more user rights groups for different purposes, in our case they are used for button programming user action buttons.

to me it is a pity we do not have short code user rights, and button programming user rights and telephony user rights etc.

And allot of these users are in user rights groups for button programming, but hot desk around, and work in different location.

Maybe we need to have them self administer.

If you use the system short code solution you don't have to use user rights.
