External Directory

Hi all.

I have a 3300 on MiVB8 with a requirement to have incoming calls identified and name of caller displayed on IP phones.
The concept is to add telephone number and names to a telephone directory. I get an error when I attempt.
How is this achieved on the 3300?

RE: External Directory

The information would have to be provided in the incoming caller id. That's a carrier function and not programmable in the MCD

I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just not going to suppose very hard.

RE: External Directory

My Telco provide caller ID in the form of numbers only and I want to tally the numbers with names.

RE: External Directory

Read about alpha tagging

RE: External Directory

what version of MiVB is it

on latest you can use link to AD

contacts with calling line id in telephone field ( we do ip phone as well for micollab) should show the associated name on 69xx series phones

like alpha tagging without having to add the names to the mivb phone book

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

RE: External Directory

It is on MIVB release 8 with a mixture of 53 series and 69 series phones. No AD and no Micollab.

RE: External Directory

As jpruder says, look into Alpha Tagging

RE: External Directory

Alpha Tagging is the answer as mentioned by others earlier in the thread.
