How to only get records that have data in at least one of many tables

How to only get records that have data in at least one of many tables

How to only get records that have data in at least one of many tables

(OP)
I am trying to limit the outcome of my report that has 3 different data sources.

Table 1. All individual contacts
Table 2. Financial Report 1
Table 3. Financial Report 2

The tables can link on a common account number. I only want to pull individauls (Table 1) that have financial activity in EITHER Table 2 OR Table 3.

I keep getting records of individuals from Table 1 that aren't linked to an account number that has any activity in Table 2 or 3.

RE: How to only get records that have data in at least one of many tables

Use a selection formula like this:

Not isnull({table2.acctno}) or
Not isnull({table3.acctno})

This assumes you have your report set to allow nulls and that you are using left joins FROM the contact table to each of the financial report tables.

Thank you. I got so focused on trying to get it to work from the initial table linking that I didn't see the obvious option of filtering them out through the select expert.
