RE: DDSM

Hi SBCSU, i will try this on friday since the customer is in go live right now. thanks ill give you feedback once command is done..BTW, the current setup is duplex and I notice that the supposed to be "standby" dscxl is showing some numbers and 3 dash on the 9-segment display. It doesn't show the "S" status on the 9-segment.. Any info bout this as well? thank you very much.

RE: DDSM

Sounds like that processor hasn't booted successfully. You may have to do a restart on it and try again. Make sure the other processor has the A, the word "act" on the right side, and ".adp" on the bottom left. That means everything is running off that processor. Sometimes the .adp (Assistant) might still be running on the other processor, but that sounds like it's not booted.

RE: DDSM

Do not turn off the system.
Contact your local next level of support
Hard Drive(s) will need to be changed out

RE: DDSM

Assuming this is a 4K, what version are you running? V8, V7, V6, V5?? Some of the newer releases have HD Recovery features - your vendor will know more. You will need to have a replacement drive that is essentially equal to what is in there. I know V7 uses a 250GB Toshiba MK2561GSYB drive that is getting hard to find, but you can still get them if you look, and I have also used a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 250GB drive ST9250410AS for backup purposes with no issues to date.

RE: DDSM

Hi SBCSU,

actually H4K V5. ill ask the vendor regarding this. thank you.

RE: DDSM

Yeah - that is still back in the unixware days. It is a different drive, and a special utility you need to set it up - PCHI, which I believe is posted in our downloads section, but I don't recommend you try that one yourself. If it had been V6 or newer I may have been more encouraging, with it being a duplex system, because it's not that hard.
