User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

(OP)
We inherited support of a system that was installed by another company. We have the system in our AMC view and I can open a ticket with support if needed.
The previous vendor changed the system account credentials and added a couple accounts - tech and teltech. Tech and system has root level access - but I can't access either one. The previous vendor purged this customer's data from their records, and are not able to help.

The account "teltech" has system level access only.

I'm wondering if anyone knows where to locate the files in the system "under-the hood" so to speak where I can edit them. I remember seeing them once a long time ago... but never documented it.

Thanks in advance.

RE: User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

System type? Software version?

RE: User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

On later releases (i.e > MCD 5.0) you can reset passwords.

Which is what I think SXWizard was alluding to by asking what version.

It is in the help files.

RE: User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

yep always start every post with system type and software version ,
saves a lot of time - you would have had your options already if we knew what version you were running

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

oops... I thought I posted the software version...
The system is MCD 5.0

They have the following accounts...
system > root level - password is unknown.
tech > root level - password is unknown.
teltech >system level - password is known and this is the only credentials that we have to the system.

I can add users and give them Desktop tool and Group Admin Tool access - does not allow system admin tool.

Trying to prep the system for upgrades.

RE: User Authorization Profiles - 3300/MCD

try this from console

ResetLoginPassword ""system""

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

From the RTC Shell or Maintenance Commands?

Got it! Thanks Billz66!
From the RTC Shell
ResetLoginPassword "system"
needed one set of quotes around "system"
