SBC AWS

SBC AWS

(OP)
Has anyone installed the SBC+EMS in AWS? Does it require a different type of entitlement or as long as it can hit a webLM it uses the same licensing?

RE: SBC AWS

I don't think the products are smart enough to check what underlying hypervisor they use. I've never seen an entitlement to run on VMware or not run on VMware or AWS or not AWS

RE: SBC AWS

Any opinions on the AWS path? We currently have a few direct connect circuits to AWS so the connectivity is pretty solid.

RE: SBC AWS

If you got a good price for AWS on some long contract, why not. Haven't tried myself. But, consider VMware is Avaya's gold standard for development and AWS/KVM/Azure/etc is 'second class' in my opinion at this point.

Figure it takes guinea pigs to see if it's any good and find bugs.

RE: SBC AWS

Same use of WebLM if I remember correctly. The big thing is if you are installing as a duplex to make sure they are both in the same Availability Zone. Avaya even has a special document for installing CM on an IaaS platform (such as AWS). It's called "Deploying Avaya Aura® Communication Manager in Infrastructure as a Service Environment."

RE: SBC AWS

Sorry. Just noted you asked about SBC and EMS specifically. That one I do not know.

RE: SBC AWS

Only big difference I am aware of (so far, still new to the AWS options) is that OOBM doesn't exist in the AWS images. This could be wrong by now or have changed.
