Setting up SIP default In the 46xx files under SIG SETTING

Setting up SIP default In the 46xx files under SIG SETTING

(OP)

I was just wondering if there is any way to setup a phone to load SIP as default under a multi H323 and SIP environment. Under SIG Setting in the 46xx setting file you do have a choice but if you leave it with value 2 and all the h323 phones reload you have havoc on your hands ( ALL H323 phone will load the SIP protocol)the only way I see it is to have 2 files one with value 2 ( SIP default )when loading a bunch of Fresh Phones and one to left for production (Value 0)so it wont load H323 phones to SIP. Not sure if there is a better solution to this... Thanks Joe

###################### SIG SETTING ######################
##
## SIG specifies the type of software to be used by the telephone by
## controlling which upgrade file is requested after a power-up or a reset.
## Value Operation
## 0 Download the upgrade file for the same signaling protocol
## that is supported by the current software (default)
## 1 Download 96x1Hupgrade.txt (for H.323 software)
## 2 Download 96x1Supgrade.txt (for SIP software)
## This parameter is supported by:
## 96x1 H.323 R6.0 and later
## 96x1 SIP R6.0 and later
## SET SIG 0

RE: Setting up SIP default In the 46xx files under SIG SETTING

Look at group codes. Keep the settings generic in the top but add what you want under a group code for the specified group.
