I need to provide the ability for an office manager to remotely update call center announcements. I've used vectoring to allow for the enabling/disabling of variables, but not sure how to setup to re-record announcements. I've read about a remote access extension, but I don't see where that is in my system (cm6.3). Any guidance on this, I'd appreciate.

Code:
DID remote access extension
change remote-access Page 1 of 1
                                REMOTE ACCESS

Remote Access Extension: 3456 Barrier Code Length: 4
  Authorization Code Required? n

           Barrier Expiration No. of Calls
Code COR TN COS Date Calls Used
        1: 1111 5 1 1 12/31/19 100 0

- Dial into pbx using DID number for remote access:
1. Dial into the switch remote-access extension (Use Barrier Code with COS that
   has Console Permissions "y"
Hear dial-tone, dial Barrier Code (hear dial-tone)
Dial Announcement Access Code: 77 (check feature-access-code for your switch)
from a station with COS that has Console Permissions "y"
2. dial announcement extension to listen
3. dial Announcement Access Code: 77 (check feature-access-code for your switch)
to access an announcement session. You can also do this from a switch station
with COS that has Console Permissions "y"
4. dial announcement extension to record, play, delete - then
Dial:
1 to record, begin recording, use "#" to end recording session
(you cannot record a protected announcement)
2 to play
3 to delete (you cannot delete a protected announcement)
- From a station with COS that has Console Permissions "y"
Dial announcement extension to listen
Dial Announcement Access Code: 77, announcement extension - then
Dial:
1 to record, begin recording, use "#" to end recording session
(you cannot record a protected announcement)
2 to play
3 to delete (you cannot delete a protected announcement)

NOTE: removing announcement does not delete the associated .wav file from the
Val board or media-gateway virtual Val board.

I don't have that command available on my system.

All systems have remote-access by default

If it is Permanently Disabled, the screen goes away, forever, unless you pay Avaya to turn the feature back on.

Code:
change remote-access Page 1 of 1
                                REMOTE ACCESS

Remote Access Extension: Barrier Code Length:
  Authorization Code Required? n

           Barrier Expiration No. of Calls
Code COR TN COS Date Calls Used

More great news as usual

This is sometimes recommended as part of Toll Fraud Indemnification and turned off.
Avaya used to charge $ 500.00 to turn it back on.
Anyone can turn it off.

What a royal pain. This would have been so handy to have this.
