Disk IO performance

Disk IO performance

Disk IO performance

(OP)
I am building a new SCO 507 Definitive virtual in VMware Hypervisor. I have built many of these over the years. However, on this one specific Dell Server, the Disk IO in production was particularly poor. Customer comment "our 15-year-old box was faster" Anyway I have dug into the issue and believe I have found the issue in an incorrect driver used for the RAID volumes on the box. What I am looking for is a script or best practice method to test disk IO on well-performing virtuals to create a baseline I can use when building these so I can feel good that the production disk IO performs at an acceptable level.
