Replace BCM 450
Replace BCM 450
(OP)
I need some advice.
I am being sent on a job to replace a 450 with a refurbished one and have never done a replacement before. While I will have an emergency number to call to answer any questions, I feel like I am walking into something way over my head. Are there any major surprises or gatcha’s I need to worry about. All reply’s welcome and if I don’t reply right away, it’s because I am spending the rest of the day reading whatever I can find on a swap before Monday morning.

RE: Replace BCM 450
If your just swapping the 450 then its 4 screws on the rack to remove.
Do you know why you are replacing the whole thing rather then just a part?
Programming:
Are you swapping one with same release number?
Does it the new one have the same amount licenses or more?
Do you know how to install and connect Element Manager?
Do you know how to install and run java and which browsers and windows version etc etc to use for Element Manager?
Do you know how to Program?
You cannot do a restore from a backup unless the new one:
-is the same release
-has the same patches or greater
If none of this makes sense to you then this is also way over head of the person that sent you.
