ms project 2013: Addition of Duration of Activities not correct

(OP)
I am working on MS Project 2013.

Please clink on the link to view screen shot of the activities i had typed with their headings.
https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=...

My question is "Building Town Planning" in the above image has 3 activities below it. The total duration of all the three activities should be 976 Days. But it is showing total duration as 476 days only. I marked this in the circle. The predecessors are correct.

Some one help to resolve it.

Thanks.

RE: ms project 2013: Addition of Duration of Activities not correct

Try adding a calculated field.

Gantt Chart Tools > Format > Columns > Custom Fields ...

Choose from drop down, (upper right) Duration

Pick any Durationn and rename to suite

Add a Formula, choose Field, Duration > Duration

Rollup > Sum

That creates a new custom field. Now you can INSERT a column in your Gantt and select the new duration field you just created.

Does this help?
